Day 8: Cultivating Creativity with Sandra Kaye

Welcome to Day 8!

I am excited to introduce you to Sandra Kaye. Sandra is a mixed-media artist, quilter, and journal-binder living in Jacksonville, FL with her family and adorable Poodles! If you follow Sandy on IG @sandieloves2art you can see Sandy's colorful work almost each and every day!

Take a listen to my conversation with Sandra Kaye.  She will give you great tips on how she does it and keeps herself inspired!

I have stacks of magazines that I may just cut up as Sandy recommends. What a good idea to keep an inspiration book, love it. I also loved the idea of keeping a list of things I want to work on so I know what to do when I find time to be creative. It is pretty typical that I forget what I want to do and have to think through all the projects available to me.

I have a sketchbook like this to use to add all my cut up magazine inspirations to:

And my fav gluesticks:

One of the tools I see Sandy use a lot is a Gelli Plate. I think this is going to be one of the next things I try. I have a normal size one and a little one that have been sitting in my Art Studio just waiting to be experimented with.

I'll just try it with some of the acrylic paints I already have. Here is a really good variety:

I hope as you listen to each day's conversation you are picking up a tip here or there and getting inspired to add some new creative things into your days in July and beyond!

Share with us on IG and FB with #cultivatingcreativity to show us what you are up to!  Or comment below!  I'd love to hear your thoughts on what this means to you!

Hugs,
Rach
