I've been keeping busy sewing away stocking ShopHandmadeU on etsy with lots of fun Zipper Pouches made from my favorite vintage quilt finds! Snatch one up when you see one you like, they aren't staying in the shop long! Of course each style is one of a kind and limited in how many each quilt will make too!

Every purchase from my shop goes directly into our Adoption Fund! We are in the midst of the paperwork for the home study and our Family profile. It's just a matter of time before we welcome our child home! We can't wait!

Hi All !

It's Chat #11 and I'm welcoming to the blog today Lisa Palmer, a Brave Sister who is really do some amazing stuff ya'll!

Lisa is an artist and an architect and lives on a ranch in Northern California. She loves to tend to her family and her animals. Recently her husband remodeled an old sheep barn on the ranch for Lisa. It is an art studio and gathering space where she is going to hold classes and retreats. Lisa is a certified Soul Restoration teacher and an avid member of the Brave Girls Club. She teaches Soul Restoration at homeless shelters and is an advocate for homeless people.

Chat #8 The Power of Words with Stasia Savasuk

Hi Everyone!

We are back with our 8th Chat today. If you missed having chats over the weekend, I have decided that this month we'll just have our chats during the week. The weekends are just going to be filled with family things, working around the property and filling out paperwork for our adoption process. So you'll anticipate the Monday chats even more now :)

Today's Conversation is not going to disappoint you! Stasia Savasuk is our special guest and she has lots of energy and enthusiasm! What a fun conversation.

Stasia Savasuk is a Personal Stylist (with a twist!) and founder of Stasia’s Style School. Her unconventional-transformation-motivational approach to style leads women of all ages and stages on an intuitive journey of letting go, knowing what they know, and embracing a life filled with confidence, courage and (inside-out) congruency. Stasia knows that changing your pants will change your life, and has ushered hundreds of women away from years of body-shaming, self-talk and muffin-top jeans to a place of body acceptance and pants that fit-to-flatter thankyouverymuch. Stasia can be seen frolicking in the backwoods of Vermont with her two kids, wearing a skirt, big earrings, red lipstick and a friendly smile.

I love how this chat focuses around how we use words to define a goal or a feeling we are after. With identifying it with words, it helps us figure out a way to get to that end goal. Focusing on the Power Words, a phrase or a motto can help you in how you feel about yourself, help you make decisions that come up, and encourage yourself and others.

How do you want to feel? Is your style, the choices you are making all helping you feel that way?

I'm excited to have this little Arkansas gal on with me today. D'Wana Villines is a wife, momma, friend, and the creator of Mountain Girl Melodies, LLC. She holds Soul Care Retreats near her home in the Ozark Mtns of Arkansas. She also creates leather "word" cuffs for local shows and for her Etsy Shoppe (find it HERE). She has a deep love for words and the influence they carry.

Handmade U - Spring 2017 May 4-6! Registration Open NOW!

Hi Everyone!!

I am so excited to announce and open up registration for our Spring semester! I have been wanting to do an all fabric, all sewing and stitching semester for some time, and FINALLY we are making it happen!

I'll be teaching a really fun and cute binder cover and way to make binder tabs, and pages out of fabric. Lots of sewing and stitching techniques.

Jennifer Allred, from The Turquoise Tomato is joining us to share TONS of Tips, Techniques and Tags! Her samples are way cute guys! I know we are going to have more ideas than time, but you are going to walk away with a binder full of completed items and fresh ideas to take home and work on going forward! All your projects will be kept in the Stitch Don't Bitch Binder and you'll be able to carry it with you for those moments you need a quiet stitch.

Malary is a young wife and mama who believes that love matters most. She enjoys cooking and baking healthful foods, spending time with her daughter and husband, being in the mountains, and creating beautiful things. I found my first guest on Instagram and instantly fell in love with her inspirational, beautiful hand-knitted, hand-stamped cuffs . I ordered one on the spot and have followed her since.

Tracy Patterson lives in West Tennessee with her family. She is a preacher's wife and has 3 children. She works by day as a dental assistant, and a Knitter and Maker by night.
